Lola’s Coffee Bar x Fonzie Abbott: Filipino Flavours Meet Great Coffee
With vibrant drinks, Filipino-inspired desserts and a welcoming neighbourhood vibe, Lola's Coffee Bar has quickly become one of Brisbane’s most exciting café destinations. Known for its colourful menu and creative beverages, Lola’s has built a loyal following of locals lining up daily for their coffee, matcha and signature desserts.
We’re proud to have them as a wholesale partner of Fonzie Abbott.
A Café Inspired by Filipino Heritage
Lola’s Coffee Bar was created by owner Marie David, bringing Filipino flavours into Brisbane’s café scene. The name itself is a tribute to family — “lola” means grandmother in Filipino.
The menu celebrates ingredients commonly found in Filipino desserts and drinks, including ube, pandan and mango, which appear across cakes, pastries and beverages. Alongside sweets, the café also serves savoury favourites such as empanadas, siopao and pandesal with Filipino-style fillings.
This blend of heritage flavours and modern café culture is what makes Lola’s such a standout in Brisbane’s food scene.
Colourful Matcha and Creative Drinks
Lola’s is also known across Brisbane for its inventive matcha drinks. Customers regularly flock in for flavours like strawberry matcha, mango matcha, pandan matcha and ube matcha — vibrant drinks that combine Japanese matcha with Filipino-inspired ingredients.
These drinks, along with smoothies and specialty beverages, have helped make Lola’s a social media favourite among Brisbane café-goers.
